WEST : We have gathered here on this longest day of the year to celebrate the Zenith of the sun. We gather to honor a great mystery. The fact that every Zenith holds its Nadir, every Nadir its Zenith. We gather here to celebrate the force of the light and of the warmth and summer.

  EAST :  The sun that has warmed and illuminated us during the wheel of the year appears to stand still for a few days. This is the time of the greatest light.

  HERAUT : Greetings to you, Sun of Seasons

When you travel hight through the sky

With your strong tread on the wing of heights

Sink down into the dangerous ocean

Unharmed and unoffended

You rise on the smooth wave

Like a young queen in bloom

 WEST : May the ancient wisdom of our Druid heritage, the deep source of eternal truth, present in our lands and our people, be warmed by the inner light of the sun, whose force on this day we acknowledge.

Let us, united in the bond of love, ray out peace and harmony into this world. Send out healing to this Earth, our house, our Mother, to benefit our children and all life.

  DRUID  :  Let now those that want to stand in this sacred place, move forward. In the eye of the sun and within the circle of their fellow people.

  OAK – CARRIER :  (steps to the middle)

On this crown of the year, in the center of this sacred land, i greet the King of Trees

(holds crown up)

I praise the glory of the oak, lover of the fulguration, giver of shadows during the hight noon-sun. In this time of the greatest power i unite your life with this circle, marking the Zenith of the Year.

  SWORD – CARRIER :  (steps to the middle)

In this time of the greatest light

(holds sword up)

I raise the sword born in fire as a bridge between Heavens and Earth.

 (oak – carrier brings crown down on the swords handle and together they walk around the circle sun-wise, then return to their place)
